The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202
Board of Education is accepting applications from residents interested in filling the Board seat vacated by the death of Robert Mueller. The individual selected will complete the remaining 2-years of the term which expires in April 2007.
Illinois School Code requires the seat be filled by May 19, 45 days following the vacancy, through a process determined by the local Board. The Board of Education will use an application and interview process to fill the seat.
According to law, Board of Education members must be at least 18 years old and have lived in the school district for at least one year.
The
application (pdf) is available on the
District website, at the Administration Center (15732 Howard Street, Plainfield) or by calling Director of Community Relations Carla Erdey at (815) 577-4008. The
deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on April 29.
The Board of Education will screen applications during a special Board meeting at the Administration Center on May 7 at 7:30 a.m. during closed session. The Board will then select finalists to be interviewed on May 9 during closed session at its regularly scheduled meeting at Drauden Point Middle School. The Board will select its candidate of choice at that meeting.
