Interested in running for a Board of Education seat?

Four seats on District 202's seven-seat Board of Education will be filled at the April 5, 2005 election.
 
To provide a comprehensive overview about serving on the District 202 Board of Education, current Board members will present a School Board Candidate Orientation on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Administration Center (15732 Howard Street, Plainfield) from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Topics to be discussed include:
  • role and purpose of school boards
  • code of conduct
  • board structure including meetings, officers, committees and commitments
  • what to expect in your first year as a school board member
  • resources for candidates
  • round table discussion
Individuals interested in running for the Board of Education, can obtain signature petitions and other important filing information at the Administration Center. The filing period begins Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. The last day to file is January 25, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. More information on school board elections can be found on the Illinois Association of School Board's website at http://www.iasb.com/election05/
