Captain Dave Brozman of the Joliet Fire Department will be bringing the Weather Response Trailer to visit 4th grade students at Wesmere Elementary School on April 18th and 19th. The Weather Response Trailer is a mobile unit that visits local elementary schools and attends community events. The purpose behind the Weather Response Trailer is to provide an experiential opportunity for the children to learn about severe weather in our community.
Captain Dave Brozman and other Fire Fighters talk to the children about possible severe weather conditions and how to respond appropriately. The children also experience a simulated severe weather alert through an audio/visual presentation. This is the second year that Captain Dave Brozman has brought the weather response trailer to Wesmere Elementary School. Last year, strong winds added to the realistic effect of the audio/visual presentation. Last year, many of the children claimed that it was the "best field trip ever!"
