Teen bands to be showcased in Foundation for Excellence Battle of the Bands
This summer, local teen bands can showcase their talents at the
first-ever Plainfield School District Foundation for Excellence Battle
of the Bands. Teens will have a chance to perform their own music on
stage during the event, which coincides with Plainfield Fest. Battle of
the Bands will take place on Saturday, July 15, in the Plainfield High
School-Central Campus Auditorium (611 W. Ft. Beggs Drive, Plainfield)
beginning at noon.
Band members must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years old at the
time of the show. This is a family show, so band members' clothing,
material and performance must be obscenity- and violence-free and
suitable for a family audience. There is a $50 fee per band to reserve a
space in the competition.
Bands interested in performing, should contact Carla Erdey at (815)
577-4008. A complete listing of the
rules can be found at www.learningcommunity202.org/202Foundation/
Battle of the Bands is open to the public. Admission is $5. All
proceeds will benefit Plainfield Community Consolidated School District
202 students through Foundation for Excellence grants, scholarships and
special programs.
The Plainfield School District Foundation for Excellence is an
independent, non-profit organization comprised of citizens committed to
