Plainfield South chili cook off brings in $300 for charity fund
Aspiring cooks among the staff members at Plainfield South High School recently put their ladles to use for a good cause. Sixteen individuals participated in a staff chili cook off to benefit the Student Cougar Charity Fund, which provides help for students whose families need assistance paying for school-related activities and other expenses.
The cooks involved brought in homemade chili using their favorite recipes. Tasters donated $4 each for an all-you-can-eat lunch, and the event brought in $300 for the charity fund.
Later this spring, many of the "award-winning recipes" will be available for just $1 in a compilation cookbook.
Plainfield South, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road in Plainfield.
