Lakewood Falls to celebrate Cinco de Mayo
The transitional bilingual education (TBE) class at Lakewood Falls Elementary School will sponsor a cultural festival on Friday, May 5, to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, Mexico's national holiday of independence. An assembly is scheduled for 9-10:30 a.m. for morning kindergartners and first, second and third graders. Fourth and fifth graders and afternoon kindergartners will attend an assembly from 2-3 p.m.
Folk music and dances, performed by students, will highlight the entertainment at the assemblies. In addition, a showcase of Mexican artifacts, clothes, food and piñatas will be featured.
Lakewood Falls, one of 14 elementary schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 14050 S. Budler Road in Plainfield.
