Curious George the focus at Bonnie McBeth ice cream social

Literary character Curious George was the focus at Bonnie McBeth Learning Center on Wednesday, March 22, at a "Curious George Goes to the Ice Cream Shop" party.

Irving Nunn, a Bonnie McBeth parent, volunteered to be the "Man in the Yellow Hat," reading "Curious George Goes to the Ice Cream Shop" to a crowd of 75 people. Those attended were treated to ice cream sundaes after the reading.

The event was one of four parent-child activities funded by the Early Childhood Block Grant for families who have children participating in the Pre-Kindergarten At-Risk program. The next scheduled event is "Dad and Me Play Day," which will run from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6.

Bonnie McBeth, the early childhood education program in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 15370 Howard Street in Plainfield.
