Drauden Point Math-a-Thon to benefit St. Jude's
Drauden Point Middle School is joining Ira Jones Middle School on the
list of district schools that will hold a Math-a-Thon to benefit St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital. Supporting students participating
in the event will help raise funds for the internationally recognized
hospital in its fight against childhood diseases. Drauden Point's
Math-a-Thon is slated to take place on Monday, April 10.
Citizens and business in the school community are encouraged to support
Drauden Point students by sponsoring them in the competition. The
Math-a-Thon is sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks, which provides a free
pass to its parks to every student who raises $35 or more through the
program.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital performs pioneering work in
finding cures for children with catastrophic diseases. Founded by the
late entertainer Danny Thomas, it freely shares its discoveries with
scientific and medical communities around the world.
Drauden Point, one of five middle schools in Plainfield Community
Consolidated School District 202, is located at 1911 Drauden Road in
Plainfield.
Ira Jones held its Math-a-Thon from March 17-April 3.
