Timber Ridge collects DVDs for injured soldiers
Students in Lori Deininger's homeroom class at Timber Ridge Middle
School recently collected new and used DVDs in an effort to lift the
spirits of injured soldiers who are recovering in a U.S. military
hospital in Germany.
Deininger saw a poster for the community project in a local restaurant
and brought the idea to her students, who were very receptive to the
project. They planned and promoted the effort, and collected 65 DVDs to
ship to Germany. Students from across all grade levels were asked to
write letters to the soldiers, which would accompany the DVDs.
Timber Ridge, one of five middle schools in Plainfield Community
Consolidated School District 202, is located at 2101 Bronk Road in
Plainfield.
