Plainfield South to induct 22 into Foreign Language Honor Societies
Plainfield South High School will induct 22 students into its chapters
of the French, German and Spanish Foreign Language Honor Societies on
Wednesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. The event will include a candle lighting
ceremony and a pledge by the inductees, and is slated to take place in
the school's auditorium, with light refreshments provided by the
Parent-Teacher-Student Organization in the
cafeteria at the conclusion of the program.
Junior or senior students who are enrolled at Level 3 or higher in
French, German or Spanish and have maintained an honor grade point
average will be recognized. Parents, family and friends are invited to
honor the accomplishments of the foreign language students. Modern
Languages Department chair Adele Hunt and teachers Maureen Miller and
Emily Todd will sponsor the event.
Todd will welcome five following students into the French Honor
Society; Miller will induct four in the German Honor Society; and Hunt
will preside over the induction of 13 students to the Spanish Honor
Society.
Plainfield South, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community
Consolidated School District 202, is located at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road
in Plainfield.
