Plainfield high schools to put on "Family Fitness Day"
In an effort to promote fitness in local students and their families,
the high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District
202 will put on the 10th Annual Family Fitness Day on Saturday, May 6.
The event is free, will take place in the field house at Plainfield High
School-Central Campus, and is slated to begin at 9:45 a.m.
There will be a variety of activities for participants of all ages,
including a 2.5 mile walk/run for adults and older students and a 1.5
mile "Diaper Derby/Toddler Trot" for ambitious youngsters. Also
included on the schedule of activities are a free throw shooting
contest, volleyball games, relay races, and a climbing wall (available
for $1).
Prizes and refreshments will be available for all attendants. The event
is sponsored by Plainfield Central, Plainfield North and Plainfield
South High Schools.
Plainfield Central is located at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive in
Plainfield.
