Plainfield Central band takes prize at Midwest Music Festival

In its first appearance at the competition, the symphonic band from Plainfield High School-Central Campus won the Grand Championship at the Midwest Music Festival on February 25.

The band placed first of 19 bands in its group, and posted the highest overall score (96.17 of a possible 100) of any of the 38 bands in the contest.

The band performed Davide Delle Cese's "Inglesina" and "Armenian Dances, Part 1" by Alfred Reed in its award-winning effort.

Plainfield Central, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive in Plainfield.
