Plainfield Central slates winter band concert for February 23
The Fine Arts Department at Plainfield High School-Central Campus will present its annual winter band concert on Thursday, February 23, at 7 p.m. in the school's auditorium. The symphonic, concert and jazz bands are all scheduled to perform under the direction of Daniel Valkema and Polly Middleton.
The jazz band will open the program by performing "Time After Time" (arranged by Don Schamber), Rick Lawn's "Small Wonders," "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones, and "The Incredibles."
The concert band will follow by presenting "Prairie Songs" by Pierra LaPlante and "Lord of the Dance," arranged by Richard Saucedo.
The symphonic band will conclude the program with "Inglesina (Little English Girl)" by Davide Delle Cese, "Armenian Dances, Part I" by Alfred Reed, Aaron Copland's "Variations on a Shaker Melody," and selections from the Broadway musical "Wicked."
Plainfield Central, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive in Plainfield.
