Plainfield Central celebrates Pi Day
The mathematics department at Plainfield High School-Central Campus
celebrated "Pi Day" on Tuesday, March 14, the day designated to
celebrate the mathematical constant that represents the ratio of a
circle's circumference to its diameter.
A competition between math teachers at the school ended in some
receiving pies in the face after school was completed on March 14.
This year marks the 300th anniversary of the Greek letter "pi" being used to represent the never-ending number, which begins with
3.14159.
Plainfield Central, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community
Consolidated School District 202, is located at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive
in Plainfield.
