Plainfield South to hold first Silent Art Auction from March 17-19

Plainfield South High School will hold its first silent art auction from March 17-19, which coincides with the run of the school's spring musical, "South Pacific." The auction will be sponsored by the campus's Art Club and the Cougar Needy Family Fund.

A variety of student art will be showcased, and individuals can silently bid on pieces that they would like to own. Each student artist will set a suggested price to start the bidding, and the person with the eventual highest bid will own the artwork. Pieces from the auction will be displayed outside of the school's auditorium.

Proceeds from the sale of the art will be divided between the artist, the Art Club and the Cougar Needy Family Fund. Bidding will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 17, and run through 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 19. Winners will be notified by phone and can pick up their purchases beginning Monday, March 20.

Plainfield South, one of three high schools in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, is located at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road in Plainfield.
