Drauden Point teachers team up with Locks of Love for hair donation
Two Drauden Point Middle School teachers committed to donating their
hair to help Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides
hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children who are suffering from
long-term medical hair loss, and several fellow staff members, parents
and students have followed their lead.
Seventh grade teachers Lauren Bergen and Gina Cameron each committed to
lose at least 10 inches of hair for the program, and now the list of
participants has grown to 15. The haircuts will be done after school on
December 4 and 5 at Salon Seven (2222 Plainfield Road, Crest Hill). Nine
Drauden Point students are among those who are donating their hair for
this cause.
Participants must have at least 10 inches of hair that they are willing
to donate. The haircuts will be done at no charge.
Drauden Point is one of six middle schools in Plainfield Community
Consolidated School District 202.
