Plainfield South program to help teens make solid career choicest
Plainfield South High School will host a program entitled "Keys to Helping Your Teen Make Effective and Satisfying Career Choices" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, in its auditorium. Plainfield North High School is co-hosting the event, and all Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 sophomores, juniors and seniors - as well as their parents - are invited to attend.
Parents are the top influence in helping their children select a career direction. Plainfield North and Plainfield South are teaming to put on this event to help attendees understand the process behind successful career planning. Studies show that 30 percent of students leave college after one year, and an additional 30 percent take five or more years to graduate from college.
The presentation will be given by Career Vision, which partners with high schools to provide educational workshops that share research to help students improve their ability to make the best educational and career decisions. Career Vision is a division of the Ball Foundation.
Plainfield South is located at 7800 W. Caton Farm Road in Plainfield.
