District 202 names three to administrative posts

The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Board of Education announced the hiring of three administrators at its August 21, 2006 meeting.

Matthew Blackmore was named as an Interim Assistant Principal at Plainfield High School-Central Campus. Blackmore joined District 202 in August 2005, and served last year as Dean of Students at Plainfield North High School in its inaugural year. Prior to arriving at Plainfield North, Blackmore spent four years as a special education teacher at Lockport Township High School. Blackmore earned a bachelor’s degree in special education from Lewis University, and also received a master’s in school administration from the school. He resides in Plainfield.

Megan Calleros has been hired to serve as the Assistant Principal at River View Elementary School. She joined the district in August 2002, and spent four years as a fifth grade teacher at Ridge Elementary School. She also taught for two years in Kankakee, Ill. Calleros received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and a master’s degree in education administration from Benedictine (Ill.) University. She lives in Shorewood.

Mary M. Jones was promoted to Assistant Principal at Plainfield High School-Central Campus. Jones arrived in District 202 in August 2001, and taught Spanish at Plainfield South High School before being named the Fine Arts/Foreign Language Department Chair at Plainfield Central in August 2005. She has taught both Spanish and English at the middle school and high school levels, and has a combined 14 years of experience teaching in Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Benedictine (Kan.) College and a master’s degree from the University of St. Francis (Ill.). She resides in Plainfield.
