Wesmere, District 202 mourn loss of Donna Legacy

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 mourns the loss of Donna Legacy, a reading specialist and reading recovery teacher at Wesmere Elementary School who died on Monday, August 7, after a long battle with cancer. She was 54 years old. Legacy joined District 202 in 2000, and completed her sixth year of service with the district in the spring. She was honored with a District 202 Award of Excellence last spring.

To assist the school in this difficult time, District 202 social workers are available for Wesmere students and staff members alike as they cope with this loss.

Legacy is survived by her two children, Kristen and Brian, as well as her mother, father and brother.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, at Tezak Funeral Home (located at 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet) from 2-6 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 13, at the Plainfield Congregational United Church of Christ (24020 W. Fraser Road, Plainfield) at 12:30 p.m.
