Ribbon cuttings scheduled for District 202 schools
Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 will celebrate the openings of three buildings with ribbon cutting ceremonies in August.
The new Central Elementary School, which is located at 23723 Getson Drive in Plainfield, will be dedicated at a 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, August 17.
Aux Sable Middle School, located at 2001 Wildspring Parkway in Joliet, will hold its ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. Aux Sable will be the district’s sixth middle school.
Finally, Plainfield Academy will celebrate its move into a new building on Thursday, August 24, at 6 p.m. Plainfield Academy’s new home is at 305 West Lockport Street in Plainfield, the former home of Central Elementary School.
District 202 encompasses a 64-square-mile area, and serves residents in Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Joliet, Naperville, Plainfield, Romeoville and unincorporated Kendall and Will Counties. The district will include 25 schools during the 2006-07 school year - one preschool, 14 elementary schools, six middle schools, three high schools and one alternative school.
