What is Explore? The EXPLORE program is designed to help explore a broad range of options for their future. EXPLORE prepares students not only for their high school course-work, but for their post-high school choices. It marks an important beginning for a student's future academic and career success. EXPLORE also serves as an independent program or as the entry point into the ACT.
What is PLAN? The PLAN program helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years. As a "pre-ACT" test, PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT.
What is ACT/PSAE? The ACT is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. This multiple choice test covers four skill areas: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Information regarding the test can be found at www.actstudent.org. PSAE stands for the Prairie State Achievement Exam. This test is administered to Juniors. The Prairie State Achievement Exam measures student's achievement relative to Illinois Learning Standards. The PSAE also comprises the ACT assessment in English, reading, mathematics and science.
