Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202

The volunteer efforts generated by the Parent/Teacher/Student Organization at the Plainfield Central High School benefits the entire community of students, staff, administrators, and parents. The PTSO provides volunteer support for various school functions.

Additionally the PTSO raises funds for the newly implemented Mini Grant Program.  This program is funded by our monthly Lunch Candy Sales as well as by selling concessions at various events throughout the school year including Fall Play, Exploration Night, Spring Musical and the Dance Show.  These Mini Grants are applied for by the staff and reviewed by the PTSO Mini Grant Committee.  After deliberation, if the application is deemed appropriate, the funds are awarded to the teacher.  The term Mini Grant was used because each award has a maximum of $200.00.  This helps us to spread out the funds throughout the staff and throughout the school year.  This program was established in 2008-2009 as a way to help our staff in their classrooms.  The program helps us to fulfill our goal which is to bring funds into the classroom to enhance the learning experience of our children.

The PTSO works in partnership with the staff and administrators to improve the teacher, parent and student relationship. We provide a variety of opportunities for every parent to become involved in the PCHS environment. Anyone in our community may join our organization by contacting a PTSO Board member for information. The link to our membership form is listed above.

There are a variety of committees that are actively involved throughout the year. They are listed below with a brief explanation.
