Tickets may be purchased by calling the bookeeper at 436-3200 ext. 815945, or by stopping in the main office of Plainfield High School Central Campus. We encourage you to purchase tickets ahead of time, but tickets will also be sold at the door.
Synopsis:
My Fair Lady tells the story of distinguished phoneticians Professor Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering, who make a bet that Higgins can transform the unrefined cockney flower-merchant Eliza Doolittle through speech,manner and dress into a duchess. “Liza" comes to live with Professor Higgins, who devotes himself painstakingly to teach her how to act like a lady. Higgins convinces both her and her father that, beyond this experiment, he has no further interest in her. Indeed, he is a confirmed bachelor who never allows himself to get involved with a woman. At long last Liza responds to Higgins' instruction and manages to drop her cockney accent and terrible manners and becomes the talk of the town as she makes her social debut. Beautifully gowned, and very much the lady, she instantly captures the heart of Freddy Eynsford-Hill. But when Higgins takes all the credit for her transformation at the Embassy Waltz and fails to acknowledge her efforts, Eliza turns on Higgins and storms out of his home to try to find her true identity. Suddenly, Higgins realizes he has grown accustomed to her and cannot live without her.
