Advanced Writing Journalism is the introductory course for working on the Fielder. All students are staff writers and their work may be published throughout the year, if it meets standards and is chosen by the editorial staff. Emphasis is placed on analyzing professional journalism style, and practicing journalism techniques for writing, photography, and layout. This is a hands-on class, with practical application, but it also touches on ethics, history and TV publication.
