Lab Safety

  • A portion of your grade is based on lab performance.
  • In order to be allowed into the lab:
    - Both student and Guardian must sign the Laboratory 3-Strike Policy and Flinn Safety Contract
     - Pass a lab safety quiz with 100% accuracy (errors in safety procedures cause accidents)

  • Lab Dismissal Procedure:
    - account for and clean all lab materials
    - Clean your lab table and surrounding floor
    - Free your lab sink of solids waste/garbage
    - Check and clean side work areas and sinks
    - wait until your lab area has been checked and group dismissed
    - upon release, fold and return your apron, remove and return goggles to storage
cabinet, exit lab area, and return to your classroom seat
  • I will select lab groups in a random fashion for each lab.  There may be some opportunities for you to work with a selected lab partner.
  • I reserve the right to immediately suspend a student from future labs for safety reasons / violations.
