 Policies & Procedures

Circulation
Books have a loan period of two weeks, with 1 renewal allowed.  Fines are $.25 per school day.  Students may have 5 books at any one time.  However, due to our limited collection, only 2 books may be on the same subject.  Reference books are limited to an overnight loan only.  The reference books will be due the next morning by 8:00 a.m.  Fines for reference books are $1.00 a day.  Videos and magazines are not available for circulation.  We ask that all materials be returned in the condition in which they are checked out.  Overdue notices will be handed out in English classes.

 

Copy Machine
Students may have copies made for $.10 a page.

Media Center Hours
Monday & Thursday             6:30am-5:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Wednesday       6:30am-4:00 p.m.

Friday                                        6:30 am –3:30 pm
 

Media Computers
Media computers house various online databases and our automated card catalog for student and faculty use.  Our webpage can be used as an excellent link to specific webpages and educational sights. The computers may also be used for Internet searching if the student has a signed Internet user agreement on file.  The Internet may only be used for school related assignments.  Classes receive top priority during the school day.  It is the teachers' responsibility to insure only students with signed and filed Internet user agreements may log on to the Internet.

 

Passes

Passes for Media Center use are issued by the Media Center staff based on availability.  Student need their ID to obtain a pass as well as to use the Media Center. During non lunch periods, students need s pass from a teacher as well as their ID

Computer Labs
Labs are available through the sign up procedure housed in the media center.  All teachers may use the labs for their classes. Please indicate the number of students you will be bringing in and what you will be working on. Additional students might be sent to these labs if there is space and the media center computers are in use.  All students must sign in on the sheet housed in the lab and the computer number must be indicated.  Report all computer problems immediately.  Login is the student's ID number.

Media Center Student Expectations

1. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
2. Talking is permitted.  However, it must be at a quiet, conversational level so as not to disturb others.
3. Treat books and equipment with respect.
4. Classroom behavior expectations as stated in the student handbook will be expected

5. No food, drink or personal grooming allowed in the media center.
