MINUTES OF PLAINFIELD SOUTH COUGAR BOOSTERS MEETING

Held December 3, 2007 at Plainfield South High School

Call to Order:  Melanie Jones called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Lynn Confiliano submitted the minutes for the November 12, 2007, meeting.  The minutes were reviewed by those in attendance and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Ms. Jones reported that the current balance is $4,176.06.

 

Principal’s Report:  Dan Goggins reported that 47.24% of parents were contacted in person, by e-mail, or telephone, for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

 

Receptions involving staff and Mr. Goggins, and students and Mr. Goggins were held.  Likes, dislikes, and needs for the school, were discussed.

 

A lockdown drill will take place on Wednesday. 

 

Athletic Director’s Report:  Bob Yanello said that tryouts for winter athletics had gone well. 

 

Boy’s bowling hosted the Cougar Invite at Town and Country Bowling Alley and received fourth place.  Next year, 24 teams will be at the invite.  The goal for both boy’s and girl’s bowling is to go to state.  

 

Mr. Kulbartz is doing well as the wresting coach with a 4 and 1 start.  Boy’s basketball is also doing well at a 4 and 1 start.  Girl’s basketball has a 2 and 4 start.  There are 35 team members on the boy’s swim team. 

 

Tomorrow night basketball will be at home against Plainfield High School Central Campus.

 

Activity Director’s Report:  Scott Albright handed out a report dated November 26 to December 3, 2007, showing the multitude of activities for the week.  He also gave a list of the extra curricular activities and the number of teachers that work with our students.

 

Committee Reports: 

 

Concessions:  Mr. Yanello gave sports and clubs a sign-up sheet for concessions.  This helps with fundraising for the organization and involvement within the school.   

 

Ms. Jones reported that Cougar Wear was sold at the first basketball game.

 

Old Business:  The bowling fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008.

 

 

 

New Business:  Thank you notes from Adele Hunt and Kristina Johnson were read.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:24 p.m.

 

The next PSHS Cougar Boosters meeting will be held January 7, 2008, at 7:00 p.m.
