MINUTES OF PLAINFIELD SOUTH COUGAR BOOSTERS MEETING

Call to Order: Kevin Voda called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m., at Plainfield South High School.

 

Secretary's Report: Secretary was absent from meeting.  No minutes to report.

 

Treasurer's report: Report submitted on activity on the account this last month, after review request was made to find out how many outstanding scholarships still needed to be paid. 

 

Principal's Report: Mr. Goggins reported that New Teacher Inductions would be held on 8/16. Curriculum night will be held on 9/6. Membership drive and Cougar Wear need to be present for these 2 events.

 

Athletic Director's Report: Mr. Yanello reported all Fall sports begin on Wednesday 8/8/2007.  Blue/White night will be 8/17/2007.  The new athletic Record Boards have been installed in athletic hallway.  Mr. Yanello introduced Kevin Allen as the new head coach of the Girls Varsity Soccer team. 

 

Activities Director’s Report:  Mr. Albright reported he is working on the 10 proposed, sponsored activities for the upcoming year.

 

Committee Reports 

Concessions:  We need volunteers to help take over concessions next year.  Please contact us a.s.a.p. if you are interested.  Report submitted with revenue breakdown.

 

Fundraising:   

October 27,2007 is the Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction.  There will be passport tickets available next week.  $50.00 per person includes dinner, open bar, DJ, and prizes along with a silent auction. Volunteers are needed for this event.  The bowling event will also need committee members for that February event.

 

Cougar Wear: Mr. Voda reported that new order had been placed that evening for upcoming events.  Kim Battcher and Pattie Nelson will be in charge of Cougar Wear this year. 

 

Homecoming: Mr. Goggins announced that the Homecoming Committee was being finalized and the activities are as follows.  Tues: Open, Wed: Speedaway, Thurs: Movie, Friday: Game and Fireworks, and Sat: Dance.  Mrs. Turk, Mrs. Confiliano, Mrs. Britt and Mrs. Johnson are heading up this committee.  Anyone interested in helping should contact them.

New Business: 

Yard Signs:  Wayne Harvey presented his yard signs for PSHS students.  Cost per sign is $30.00 with a lead-time of two weeks.  For each sign ordered $5.00 goes back to the Cougar Boosters.  Order Forms are available on our web site and will be available at the Cougar Den on Blue/White Night.

 

Dippin Dots:  Dippin Dots contacted the Boosters.  They would provide a freezer with product for $2.00 each.  We would sell for $3.00 each at football games.  Dippin Dots would restock weekly or as needed basis.  We would have to provide the volunteers to work the stand.  Boosters approved this idea and concessions will contact Dippin Dots to set up arrangements.

The next Cougar Booster meeting will be held on Sept. 10, at 7:00 at Plainfield South High School.
