MINUTES OF PLAINFIELD SOUTH COUGAR BOOSTERS MEETING

Held May 7, 2008

Call to Order: Kevin Voda called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m., at Plainfield South High School.

Secretary's Report: The minutes from April 2008 were submitted. The minutes were reviewed. Karen Serafini motioned to approve, Kathy Diehl seconded. Motion passed.

Treasurer's report: Report submitted on activity on the account this last month, Checking account balance is $676.18.

Principal's Report: Mr. Goggins reported that Explore, PLAN, and ACT/PSAE testing was April 23 and 24. Thank you for all the hard work of the students and staff. Mr. Goggins reported on IPI and discussed some plans for the 2008/2009 school year Highlight for the upcoming year is that 800 kids have signed up for AP classes as compared to this year 314. Mr. Goggins wants to Thank all the parents that are running for the various offices this evening.

Athletic Director's Report: Mr. Yanello reported spring season is about over and PSHS will be hosting the boys track conference meet Thursday. Softball is having a great year. Soccer just placed 3^rd in the Bartlett tournament and Badminton just had their best conference meet ever. Some thoughts for next year are improving the weight room, update record boards, perhaps a ticket booth for the stadium.

Activities Director's Report:

Mr. Albright reported that the Literary Magazine sent two students to state. There were 8 Gold Medal given for the Special Olympics.

Committee Reports

Awards/Scholarship: Mrs. Johnson reported the scholarship applications have been collected and winners have been chosen and will be revealed at Senior Honors Night May 16^th.

Fundraising: The Golf Outing is June 6^th. There are only 2 Golf foursomes left. Needed still are 2 sponsors. The next planning meeting will be at the Voda's home on May 19^th.

Concessions: Mr. Serafini submitted the monthly account activities. The current balance is $4743.11. Help is still needed for the Conference Track meet.

Old Business: Elections took place for the new officers. The new officers are Kevin Voda for President: Karen Serafini for Vice President: Michael Bachner for Treasurer: and Kathy Diehl for Secretary.

New Business: In previous years when a new high school is open we send a donation to the new schools Booster program. Motion to send $500.00 to PEHS Boosters by Mike Serafini, and seconded by Karen Serafini. Motion passed.
