Call to Order: Kevin Voda called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. at Plainfield South High School.

Secretary's Report: Mr.Voda read unofficial minutes of August 6, 2007 meeting.   Secretary was absent from last meeting and Mr. Voda had recorded minutes.  At next meeting we must approve June, August and Sept meeting minutes. There was no meeting in July.

Treasurer's report: Report submitted on activity on the account this last month, Checking account balance is $2012.50.  This does not include deposits given to Treasurer this evening for Cougar Wear sales at first football game and membership deposit.  Only one scholarship remains open to be paid from last year.

Principal's Report: Mr. Goggins reported on participation numbers from Curriculum night.  Our Curriculum night attendance was at 30 % overall.  This is ok but we want to strive to get more families to attend.   Mr. Goggins gave a handout breaking down the percentages of attendance by many categories.  He also noted that it was the best attendance ever for the Freshman/New Student Orientation.  Also on the handout were the activities for Homecoming week.

Activities Directors Report: Mr. Albright reported that there were 19 applications submitted for the 10 stipend clubs allowed by the district.  These will be looked at and ten will be selected.  ACT prep classes have been developed by the district and teachers were trained over the summer to teach an ACT prep class for our students.  The cost will be $100.00 per student and will be a 20-hour course.

Athletic Director's Report: Mr. Yanello reported athletics is halfway through the fall season and has started conference play.  All athletic teams are home at some point this week.  All head coaches are being invited to the next Cougar Booster meeting.  Mr. Yanello suggested that everyone use highschoolsports.net to get athletic schedules and up to date information on game cancellations and such.  PSHS was the winner of the Enterprise SPC Cup.  Mr. Briscoe accepted the award during a ceremony at Plainfield Fest this summer. The first ever Girls Home Swim Meet will be at the Plainfield YMCA on 9/18.

Committee Reports

Concessions:  We need volunteers to help take over concessions.  Please contact us a.s.a.p. if you are interested.  Report submitted with revenue breakdown.  This year we are experiencing record concession sales for the freshman football games.

Fundraising:    The Annual Golf Outing was the most successful yet.  Profits were just over 10,000.  October 27,2007 is the Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction.  Cost is 50.00 per person. Volunteers are needed for this event.

Cougar Wear:  A Fall season Sales Update was submitted by committee showing sales per item.  Total sales this year is up and again freshman game sales are the highest ever.

Homecoming:  The Homecoming Committee has met and activities have been planned.  They are still looking for help and will begin their calling volunteers shortly.

Membership:  We currently have 180 staff members and 209 families that have joined at this time.

New Business

There was a presentation from American Screen Printing to ask the Cougar Boosters to use their service to set up an Internet store to order Cougar Wear.  They would provide this service and Cougar Boosters would be given a percentage for all items sold.  They would also like to be our supplier for our stock at school.  The Cougar Wear committee will need to breakdown all of our pricing and quality of stock and compare the company to our existing vendor.

Mr. Voda presented a vendor that would put up plastic lettering onto our Stadium Building saying, COUGAR COUNTRY at a cost of $975.00 installed.  This would be a nice addition and can be seen from Ridge road.  Mrs. Sanchez motioned and all voted "Yes."  Motion passed.

Kevin Voda motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:59.

The next Cougar Booster meeting will be held on October 1, at 7:00 at Plainfield South High School in the cafeteria.
