Minutes:  PSHS COUGAR BOOSTERS

Meeting held: Monday, October 5th, 2009

 

Call to order by Karen Sarafini, Vice-President @ 7:00pm  

Secretary’s Report:  Kathy Diehl submitted minutes from SEPT 2009 meeting, reviewed and motion was approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Mike Bachner (documentation on file): Balance $14,821.92  as of as of 10/2/09.

Principal’s Report – Dan Goggins (on file) ACT results (Spr 09 – Juniors) / Above state avgs.  Budget reduction in effect w/all Plainfield Dist 202 staff including PSHS.  $600k cuts @ PSHS / asked to cut by 10%. (none in staff or programs) cuts made in printing/online costs.

Athletic Director’s Report – Bob Yanello: Conferences & sectionals being held.  G-Golf 2nd pl / B-Golf 4th pl.

Activities Director’s Report – Kevin Wargo : (report on file) Fall play “Noises Off”. New club Engineering club, Mr. Hines is the sponsor.  102 PSHS Concert choir showing DVD and slide show of last April’s performance at Lincoln Center in NY.  Cougar and Key Club having food drive held in October.  Collecting food at last football game 10/16.  National Honor Society assisted Freshman Ice Cream Social. Cleaning up our section of Route 126. Currently working concessions at Drauden Point Middle School & with babysitting for PTO at Meadowview Elementary, tutoring at PSHS.  Student Coucil hosting annual Pumpkin Painting Party 10/29. Students & teachers from surrounding schools invited. Homecoming planning continues for Student Council.

Spirit Wear: Kim B: Spirit-wear orders can now be placed through the main PSHS website. T-shirts / hats / umbrellas ordered.  Balance for Fall season: $7809.1300.  New T-shirts (black/blue cougar head)        

Misc –. Homecoming week 12th-17th.  Activities planning in progress.  Mon/Tues school not in session but Mr. Cougar Pageant and Variety Show will begin Tues. 10/13 @ 6pm (new start time this yr) – candy/chips/popcorn/pop will be available from concessions/Boosters. (Complete activities schedule on file) Homecoming dance Sat. 10/17: 7pm-10pm “Another Night, Another Dream” theme. 10/16 Senior Night.

Old Business   Proposed “VIP” football tickets for concessions.  Line to be established for VIP ticket holders to facilitate quick ordering of food. Looking for options for VIP walk area to concessions.  Boosters to pay $1000 toward portion of choreographer.
