Minutes: PSHS COUGAR BOOSTERS

Meeting held: Monday, September 14, 2009

Call to order by Karen Sarafini, Vice-President @ 7:04pm (Pres. Kevin Voda via telephone)

Secretary’s Report: Kathy Diehl submitted minutes from AUG 2009 meeting, reviewed and motion was approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Mike Bachner (documentation on file): Balance $16,571.92 as of as of 9/11/09.

Principal’s Report – Dan Goggins (on file) Demographic Data / attendance for freshman and sophomore student orientation / Advanced Placement parent night 9/23 @ 7pm / Cannon for TD’s in end-zone / graduation #’s up / truancy down / discipline referrals down

Athletic Director’s Report – Bob Yanello: Conference games SBC begin. Both girls and boys sports successful (full report on file – wins/losses) New Wrestling coach Jason Acevedo.

Activities Director’s Report – Kevin Wargo (not present): (report on file) clubs having first meetings this month. Student Council getting ready for homecoming week. Powderpuff directed by Ms. Malcolm/Ms. Brand. Fall play tryouts begin 9/16 &17. Fundraisers currently: girls volleyball selling little Caesars’’ pizza, German club bussing tables at Wendy’s, dance team selling candy for FL trip, NHS volunteering hours in concessions.

Concessions: Mike S (not present – report provided): Account balance $5,255.71. Three clubs working. 50/50 sold @ games. Selling popcorn/Hotdogs/pop in stands. Adding hamburgers and chili to menu. New candy den selling pizza/popcorn/candy/pop.

Spirit Wear: Kim B: Spirit-wear orders can now be placed through the main PSHS website. T-shirts / hats / umbrellas ordered. Balance for Fall season: $3444.00. New T-shirts (black/blue cougar head)

Misc –. Homecoming week 12^th-17^th. Activities planning in progress. Mon/Tues school not in session but Mr. Cougar Pageant and Variety Show will begin Tues. 10/13 @ 6pm (new start time this yr) – candy/chips/popcorn/pop will be available from concessions/Boosters. (Complete activities schedule on file) Homecoming dance Sat. 10/17: 7pm-10pm “Another Night, Another Dream” theme.

Old Business – Proposed “VIP” football tickets for concessions. Line to be established for VIP ticket holders to facilitate quick ordering of food. Looking for options for VIP walk area to concessions. Boosters to pay $1000 toward portion of choreographer.
