MINUTES OF PLAINFIELD SOUTH COUGAR BOOSTERS MEETING

                                                       Held February 4,2008

Call to Order: Kevin Voda called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m., at Plainfield South High School.

Secretary's Report: The minutes from December, 2007 were submitted, as there was no meeting in January 2008. The minutes were reviewed and motion was approved.

 

Treasurer's report: Report submitted on activity on the account this last month, Checking account balance is $1404.88. 

 

Principal's Report: Mr. Goggins passed a hand out and reported on the Prairie State Achievement Exam.  He discussed ACT and GPA and their importance in higher-level education.

 

 Athletic Director's Report: Mr. Yanello reported winter season is almost over and Spring season will begin on February 25th.  Regionals and Sectionals are coming up next week for swimming, basketball. Nicole Hamilton was a state qualifier for bowling

John Kontos bowled a perfect 300 game in tournament this last week. 

 

Activities Director's Report:    

Mr Albright handed out a sheet discussing all of the activities happening this last month.  Notable was that the Chess team was competing in the state tournament and the PSHS Computer Club took home 1st place in the Expert Division and 2nd in the Novice division at the JJC Robotics Competition. 

 

Committee Reports 

Awards/Scholarship: Mrs. Johnson reported the scholarship drive has begun.  Cougar Pride and Lifetime Membership Award forms have been distributed and winners will be chosen shortly.

Fundraising:    The Annual Bowling Bash is scheduled for March 1, 2008 at Town and Country. Volunteers always needed.

Membership:    180 staff and 232 families currently make up our membership.

 

New Business: 

Nominating Officers for 2008-2009: Currently looking for members to be in the nominating committee.  Those interested see Melanie.

Hoops and Hearts Dance:  Immediately following the Score basketball game on Feb 13, 2008 there will be a dance.  All students are encouraged to attend.

Exploration Nights:  Exploration nights this year are 2/19aaand 2/20
