On Saturday May 2nd 2009 Members of the Outdoor Club participated in the first annual Camping Day on the campus of Plainfield South High school. Members were introduced to a variety of camping equipment which included a backpacking tent and a large cabin tent. They were also shown various pieces of equipment essential to a good camp including: propane camp stove, propane lantern, propane heater, solar showers, cots, sleeping bags, and much more. Mr. Dvorak gave a demonstration on the proper way to filet a fish and then we had a fish fry! Members were also shown the proper way to start a campfire then roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. All in all it was an informative and enjoyable experience for all involved.
