All work will be graded according to a point system based on the requirements of the assignment. You will receive points based on your demonstration of understanding, effort, creativity, craftsmanship, and professional presentation. The student should consider all assignments and studies of equal importance. A general rubric is discussed in depth in class.
Work can
generally be defined as follows:
A (100-90%) = OUTSTANDING WORK:

craftsmanship, original ideas/product, mastery of techniques, shares knowledge
and ideas in class discussion.
B (89-80%) =

clearly illustrated, good craftsmanship, originality evident, mastery of
techniques shares some ideas in discussions.

expected to operate in a safe manner. Horseplay is prohibited. Stay
in your general work area, and do not linger around the classroom or in storage
areas.
ABSOLUTELY no food or drink in class. Throw these things away in
the trashcan in the hall before you enter.
CLEAN UP: You are
expected to clean-up after yourself after each class. This includes , tools,
and work area(s). This also includes any duties that you are assigned for the
week. This will be discussed in class.
PASSES: My pass use
policy is as follows: To use a pass you must: 1. Have a current passbook
that is YOURS; 2. Have passes to use in class (you only get three from
me per semester); 3. Have a valid reason to use a pass. I will not give
passes to use the phone, see another teacher, or go to your car. You will only
use passes to go to the restroom or to the nurse.
RESPECT FOR OTHERS: Do
not touch other people’s work or materials. Treat all classmates and
peers as you would like to be treated. Taunting, teasing, and name
calling will not be tolerated.

a 2% deduction per day, up to 3 days. After the 5th day, you may earn a maximum of 50% credit.
Missing work will be made up in a timely manner and may result in homework clinic during,
after, or before school. Zeros are a last resort and students will make every effort to complete
all work done in and out of class.
Electronic devices: as per the handbook, one warning then a dean referral if seen out. Your time is valuable, spending it texting or looking through your music is not a good use of it.
