EXPECTATIONS:
1.
Physical, athletic code and athletic fee must be turned in before
an athlete can practice.
2. There
are no tryouts. If athletes attend
practice they compete in the meets.
3.
Regardless if an athlete is a top 5-7 runner on the Varsity or JV level,
there are open races in which all athletes run.
4. An
athlete would not be able to compete if they are not in attendance on the day of a meet or they were absent on a
Friday before a Saturday meet.
5. There
will be practice on Labor Day and on Columbus Day. Times forthcoming.
6.
Illness. If an athlete is sick
and cannot make practice they should come see me in room 113 before going home.
7. If
an athlete is ill the night before and will not be in attendance the next day, please call the Athletic Department office
or leave a message on my voice or
e-mail.
8. If an
athlete is ill on Saturday please call me on my cell-phone.
9. The
competition schedule and practice times are posted online and are in the AD’s
office.
10. If an athlete misses numerous practices due
to illness or injury it is up to the doctor, trainer and the coaching staff to
determine when an athlete is ready to run in competition.
11. If an
athlete is injured during practice they will be sent to the athletic trainer
Brian Beck and his recommendations will be adhered to.
12. If students are in other school related activities
and are going to miss practice they should communicate with the coaches so we
can accommodate the activity they are in as well as the practice they are missing.
13. If an
athlete is unexcused from practice phone contact will be made to the parent/guardian.
14. If an athlete continually misses practices that
are unexcused it is pretty clear they do not want to be part of the team.
