Phil Bodine enters his 19th year as being a head coach this year. Bodine began his coaching career at Mendota High School; after those 15 years he continued for the next three at York High School in Elmhurst Illinois. This year will be the first year as head coach at Plainfield South High School in Plainfield Illinois. In the past 19 years of coaching in the high school level Bodine has sent 50 students on to play collegiately. Bodine coached the likes of Billy Butler (Kansas City Royals), Michael Main (Texas Rangers), Max Sapp (Houston Astros), Trevor Plouffe (Minnesota Twins), Hank Conger (Anaheim Angels), and Lastings Milledge (Washington Nationals). He served as the assistant coach for USA Baseball in Venezuela, Encarnacion De Diaz and was the head coach for the World Championships in Monterey Mexico, all three received silver medals and all three losses were to Cuba.

Playing Career
Bodine was a starting pitcher for two years each at both Southwestern CC and UIC.
