Instructions
Your FIRST visit to the site:
- Type in www.turnitin.com. Then click on “create a user profile”
- When prompted for
“what type of user are you?” select student.
- You will need to enter
your class ID & Password
- 1st Hour-2010878 Password: abrown
- 2nd Hour-2010880 Password: abrown
- 6th Hour-2010883 Password: abrown
- 7th Hour-2010886 Password: abrown
- Next enter your email
address. If you do not have an
email address, make one up, but make sure it is something you will
remember. It has to have the
@yahoo.com or @aol.com or whatever provider you use in the address.
- Enter a password
including at least one letter and number.
You will enter this password twice. Make sure it is something you will remember.
- Enter your first and
last name into the appropriate boxes.
Select the country and state and click next.
- When prompted, click
“I agree – create user profile.”
- Then, click on end
wizard and go back to login page
- At the login page,
type your e-mail address & password as you have just entered into the
system.
- Now you should see
your class listed on your screen.
Choose that class.
- Then, in the box that
appears, choose the submit icon that is to the right hand side of the
assignment you want to submit.
- In the next screen,
input your name, the title you gave your assignment, and your student id
number.
- On this same page, you
can input your paper two ways:
- Look at the top of
the box to “submit your paper by” and click on the drop down arrow. Then choose one of the two options:
- 1 – select file
upload and then use the “browse” function to find the paper you have
stored on your disk or computer
- 2 – cut & paste
the text from word processing into the available box.
- Then, at the top of
the box, choose “submit.”
- Now you’re done, but
you can return any time you want to check the status of your paper.
Once
You’ve Set Up Your Account:
- Go to www.turnitin.com
- Login, and your class should already be listed.
- Enter the class by clicking on it.
- You can see any of your previous assignments, or
you can choose to submit another paper.
The process is the same as above.
