ISBE/Work Keys Assessment

 

Test Components:

ISBE Science Assessment-40 Minutes/45 Questions

Applied Mathematics-45 Minutes/33 Questions

Break-15 minutes

Reading for Information-45 Minutes/33 Questions

 

Materials Needed:

                                        Brain

                                        2 Sharpened Pencils (at least)

                                        Admission Ticket (given to you ahead of time)

                                        Identification (Driver’s License, School ID)

                                        Calculator (check with your math teacher)

                                        Watch

                                        Comfortable Clothes

 

Strategies:             

                                        Be Prepared (know ahead what to expect-practice!)

                                        Maintain a Positive Mental Attitude

                                        Test Questions move from easiest to most difficult

                                        Practice! Practice! Practice!

                                        Eat a good breakfast (one that you are accustomed to)

                                        Get a good night’s sleep (but, don’t overdo it!)

                                        Know the directions (select the best answer)

                                        Guess-there is no penalty for wrong answers

                                        Don’t Rush-you have plenty of time

                                        Have a panic plan (what to do if you are running out of time)
