Instructions
Your FIRST visit to the
site:
- Type
in www.turnitin.com. Then click on “user login”
- At
the top right hand side of the page, you will see the login prompt. Underneath the prompt you will see create
a user profile. Click
that link.
- On
the next screen, enter your e-mail address and then click next. (If you do
not have an e-mail address, either go to yahoo.com or hotmail.com and
create a free one, or make one up just so you can get registered.)
- Then
enter a familiar password so that you don’t forget and write it down in a
safe place. (You are given the
option to create security questions. Please do this. If you forget your
password, you can log in by correctly answering your security
questions!)Then click next.
- On
the personal information, you only NEED to put your first & last
names.
- When
prompted for “what type of user are you?” select student.
- Then,
click on “I agree on the user agreement.”
- Then,
click on “start class enrollment wizard”
You will
need to enter your class ID & Password

smith
- Then,
click on end wizard and go back to login page
- At
the login page, type your e-mail address & password as you have just
entered into the system.
- Now
you should see your class listed on your screen. Choose that class.
- Then,
in the box that appears, choose the submit icon that is to the right hand
side of the assignment you want to submit.
- In
the next screen, input your name, the title you gave your assignment, and
your student id number.
- On
this same page, you can input your paper two ways:
- Look
at the top of the box to “submit your paper by” and click on the drop
down arrow. Then choose one of
the two options:
- 1 –
select file upload and then use the “browse” function to find the paper
you have stored on your disk or computer
- 2 –
cut & paste the text from word processing into the available box.
- Then,
at the top of the box, choose “submit.”
- Now
you’re done, but you can return any time you want to check the status of
your paper.
Once
You’ve Set Up Your Account:
- Go to www.turnitin.com
- Login, and your class should already be listed.
- Enter the class by clicking on it.
- You can see any of your previous assignments, or
you can choose to submit another paper.
The process is the same.
All papers should be brought
to class with a turnitin.com receipt attached to it. For every day you are late
turning in the receipt, your paper will be docked 10%. After 5 days, your paper
will be a zero.
