Dear
AP Calc Student:
For me, calculus class was very
enjoyable this year. Being in pre-calc and not doing so well in that
class, I
was nervous that I would not get good grades this year. However, I was
wrong. I
have received high marks on all of my tests because Ms. Finn explains
things
until you understand them. And, as long as you keep up with the
homework, you
too, will probably receive high marks on the tests that you take as
well.
Another thing, do not worry if you struggled with something in
pre-calc,
because although you will be using a majority of the things you learned
in
pre-calc, you will also be reviewing a lot of the concepts in pre-calc
to help
refresh your memory. Overall, calculus has personally been one of my
favorite
classes and extremely enjoyable.
One more thing, don’t let the fact
that you’re a senior, get in the way of you doing your homework. The
homework
that you do is what gives you the practice you need in order to so well
on the
tests. And, everything that you do in one chapter is the building
blocks for
what you’ll be doing in the next chapter. So, if you are struggling
with a
particular section, chapter, or concept, GET HELP! It is a lot easier
to get
help immediately than to need help with something later when the rest
of the
class has moved on. But most importantly, have fun in calculus, it’s a
fun
class and I gaurantee that you will learn a lot if you just try. Have a
great
senior year, and good luck!
