Dear Future Calculus Student,

What you might be thinking when you first start the year is, “How in the world am I going to pass this class? Isn’t it one of the hardest courses to ever take?” Not really… Calculus for me was actually enjoyable. If you have Miss Finn, it’s even more enjoyable, because, heck, you get to sing! Trust me, singing does help. I have been in her class for math the past two years and her songs for formulas and harder subjects are still in my mind to this day. You start off on an introduction of pre-calc and then you get to the “intimidating stuff” (derivatives, integration, limits) as the year goes on.

You might feel some stress in a few topics, I’m not going to lie about that, but if you do your best to pay attention, then it won’t be as bad as it seems. You will survive; it’s not THAT BAD…

Just remember to do your homework every night and take notes throughout each school day. This will help you not have to study so much for tests because you will have the knowledge of the subjects discussed.

And don’t stress about the AP test… even if you take it or not, it’s beneficial to pay attention because it will help you prepare for COLLEGE math courses…

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Former Calculus Student
