Dear New Calculus Student,

Welcome to AP Calc.  I’d like to start by telling you that the Calculus teachers are some of the best teachers in the building!  I had Ms. Finn and she is/was amazing and pretty much the main reason I took Calc.  Before my senior year I heard the best things about her!   Understanding Calculus is not the easiest thing in the world, but somehow Ms. Finn manages to help us understand. (I here Ms. Hahn is excellent too…so either way you are in good shape!)  Homework and notes are the key to success in Calculus.  However your grade is based mainly on tests and quizzes but the 5-point random homework checks can make or break your grade.  I am not much of test taker, but I do my homework, which will be the reason I leave Calculus with an A (I think)!!!!  And if you don’t understand something ask for help, really.  Ms. Finn is always there in morning and is always willing to help, just schedule and make the time to understand this stuff.  Also, if you are not taking the AP Test no worries, I didn’t but I know this class will still help be for college.  Those of you taking the AP Test GOOD LUCK!  Again just do your homework and make the effort to go and get help, it does not go unnoticed.  Form study groups as well because those seem to help.  Well best of luck and respect your teachers because they’re the some of the best ones you’re going to get at Plainfield South!
