MATERIALS

-         Spiral Notebook (no other subjects in this notebook) – put in your binder

-         Loose-leaf paper

-         Pencil

-         Calculator (TI-Scientific preferred)

-         Textbook

o       Your textbook is your responsibility.  If you lose it, I will give you another book and you will be issued a debt form for your lost book.  If your book gets water/food damage, it is district policy that you will have to pay for the entire book at the end of the year.

BINDER

Your binder will be collected every other test for a grade.  It needs to be organized and have all the required homework, notes, vocabulary, etc.  The dividers of the binder should be labeled as the five categories: notes, vocabulary, homework, handouts, quizzes.  You can use a spiral notebook or loose leaf paper to take notes every day in class and keep it in your binder.

HOMEWORK

Homework is an essential part of school and the learning process.  I need to be able to read and follow your work.  Math homework is done in pencil.  Do your homework on loose leaf paper under the homework section.

Make sure you understand the material after each lesson, if not…ASK!

QUIZZES/TESTS

Quizzes will be given throughout the year.  Tests will be given over each area that we study.  A final exam will be given at the end of 18 weeks.

LATE WORK

You are expected to turn in all work on time.  Late work must be turned in within two days of the original due date.  Late work will only be worth half credit.  Work not turned in at all is a zero.  I expect you to keep track of what assignments are missing.

IF YOU ARE ABSENT…

It is your responsibility to find out what assignments were missed and to turn them in within the time allowed.  You have one day for every excused absence to make up your work.  Any unexcused absence will result in a zero for the day.  Please check the assignment board for the material covered and assignments you missed.  For more information, please refer to your student handbook.

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY

Cheating on homework, quizzes, tests, and the like is strictly prohibited.  This consists of looking on another’s paper, talking, or giving answers to another.  If this is violated, a zero on the work will be given and cannot be made up.
