Course Description:

This course is designed to fulfill admission requirements for a four-year college.  Topics of study include operations on real numbers and variables, equations and inequality solving, graphing, polynomials, functions, problem solving, complex numbers, matrices, systems of equations, rational expressions, conics, exponential and logarithmic functions, and Introductory Trigonometry.

 

Expectations:

Students are expected to:

Attend class on a daily basis.

Keep a class notebook of notes, model problems, and homework assignments with noted corrections.

Read the assigned textbook readings.

Participate in class, group discussions, and problem solving activities.

Schedule make-up deadlines with the individual teacher when an absence occurs.

 

Materials Needed:

Pencils

2 Notebooks

Folder or binder

Graphing Calculator TI-83 recommended

 

Homework/Notebook Procedure:

All homework should be done in your notebook.  The page number, assignment and date should be written at the top of the page.  All homework corrections should be made as we review the homework in class.

Notebook MUST be brought to class everyday.

There will be unannounced notebook quizzes

All handouts and returned materials should be kept in a folder or binder.

 

 

Classroom Procedure:

Enter the classroom and find your assigned seat.

Take out your notebook and open it to the assignment.

 

 

Grading:

Grades will be determined by tests, quizzes, projects, activities, and homework.  Students should keep track of their grade.

 

 

Extra Help:

I am available for extra help any day before school and by appointment after school. If you need to see me, let me know.
