CLASS EXPECTATIONS

 

Class will be run with in the general school policies.  No hats, no coats, no gum, etc.

 

Be prepared – Come to class prepared.  Bring all proper materials needed.

Calculator - Scientific Calculator (Algebra 1 & Geometry), Graphing Calculator (Algebra II)

 

Respect – Respect each other’s right to learn.  Do not be disruptive in class.  (No talking out of turn, no getting out of desks with out permission, etc.)  Respect each other’s property.  Please do not take anything that does not belong to you. 

 

Absences – If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to find out what you missed (homework, quiz, or test), and to get the all notes for that day.  If you miss a test or a quiz, it is YOUR responsibility to schedule a time to make up the test or quiz.  I WILL NOT REMIND YOU!!!!!  If you do not make up the test or a quiz, it will go as a “zero” into the grade book. You have two days for every EXCUSED absence.

 

Tardies – Tardies will be handled with general school policy.  (See school handbook).

 

Passes – No passes will be given to leave class unless it’s an emergency.  You must have your handbook to leave class.

 

Homework – Make sure to put proper heading on homework – date, section, page number, and the problems assigned.  Homework is expected to be completed every day.  If you do not understand something, please get help.  “The worst thing you can do is NOT try.”   

 

Note taking – Take proper and complete notes.  They will be your first resort if you need help with homework.

 

Food/Drink – No food or drink will be allowed in the classroom (unless provided by me.).

Cussing. 

Lining up at the door at the end of class.  (Remember, we’re not in kindergarten any more.)

Touching my computer, and things on my desk without permission. 

No yelling out the windows or into the hallways. 

Throwing things.  (Especially trash.)

GRADING POLICY

 

Homework:  Homework will be checked every day.  Assignments that are collected need to be turned in on the assigned day.  

 

 

Quizzes:  There will be 1-2 quizzes every chapter.  Proper warning will be given before MOST quizzes.  (I love pop-quizzes!!!!!!)

 

 

Tests:  Tests will be at the end of every chapter.

FINAL GRADE:  Final grade will be calculated by accumulated points divided by total points possible.  The semester grade will be 80%, and the semester FINAL will be 20%.  (I DO NOT ROUND UP!!!!!)
