Absent Policy:
Every class is a valuable part for preparing you for all tests and future careers. When you are absent YOU are responsible for:
1. Absent the day of a lesson:
a. Check the calendar for the assignment
b. Get the class notes from a classmate
c. If needed ask for help. Teacher will only give help to a student who has demonstrated a valid effort to learn the material.
2.
Absent the
day of a review
Little do you know that because you are doing all of your daily homework and have been reviewing your notes daily, you have been studying for your assessments all along. Therefore you are required to take any assessment with the class should you miss a review day.
3.
Absent the
day of a test or quiz
If you choose to miss the day of a quiz or test you will be required to make up that grade the next day. The grade make up may be in a different format from the original test. Expect the new version to be more challenging and either and essay, verbal, or project oriented. If you know that you will be absent the day of a test arrange to take it before you leave. THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON TO MISS TEST DAYS. The teacher reserved the right to change this due to extenuating circumstances. All quiz or test grades need to be made up within one week otherwise a zero will be recorded. Do not count on a reminder from the teacher, be RESPONSILBLE.
Late Assignments:
Late work will be accepted the next day for half credit.
Extra Help:
The teacher is available to help you BEFORE school. Please notify me when you would like to come in. Due to my coaching/day care schedule I may need to make arrangements.
Unexcused absences:
Skipping class is not tolerated! All unexcused absences will be disciplined according to the handbook. Including a zero for any work that day.
