Media Center Procedures
Circulation
Books have a loan period of three weeks, with 1 renewal allowed.  Fines are $.25 per school day.  Students may have 5 books at any one time.  However, due to our limited collection, only 2 books may be on the same subject.  Videos and magazines are not available for circulation.  Please return all materials in the condition in which they are checked out.  Overdue notices will be handed out in English classes.

Copies
Students may have copies made for $.10 a page. Colored printing is available at a cost of $.75 a page. Please see media staff for assistance.

Media Center Hours
Monday-Thursday 6:30-3:00 p.m.
Friday                  6:30-2:30 p.m.

Media Computers
Media computers house various online databases and our automated card catalog for student and faculty use.  Our web page can be used as an excellent link to specific web pages and educational sites. The computers may also be used for Internet searching if the student has a signed Internet user agreement on file.  The Internet may only be used for school related assignments.  Classes receive top priority during the school day.  It is the teacher's responsibility to insure only students with signed and filed Internet user agreements may log on to the Internet.

Passes
Students may use the media center during study hall and lunch periods for quiet study, project collaboration and research. Each student must have a pass to the media center during school hours. The pass will specify the purpose of the visit. Students may come before or after school to sign up for computer time or a table and to receive a pass from media staff. Students should check in with study hall teachers before coming to the library. Substitutes are not allowed to send students to the media center. Regardless of what time the student enters the media center, they must sign in and out. Teachers who have reserved the media center for their classes will be given priority.

Computer Labs
Labs are available through the sign up procedure housed in the media center.  All teachers may use the labs for their classes. Please indicate the number of students you will be bringing in and what you will be working on. All students must sign in on the sheet housed in the lab and the computer number must be indicated.  Report all computer problems immediately.
