Attention Gamers:  There will be no Gamers Club this Thursday 3/18.  Repeat, no Gamers Club this Thursday.  We will meet again on 3/25.

Attention all Boys Basketball players:  Your awards night is Wednesday, March 17th at 6:30pm in Room 100RS. 

Don't miss the Prep Shootout with the 2010 Senior All-Stars!  On Monday, March 22nd at 6pm, come watch the area's top senior boys and girls basketball players!  Doors open at 5:15pm.  Cost is $1 for students with ID.  10 area teams will be here and there will be a special performance by the Colleen Wild Band, featuring 2004 PSHS graduate Colleen Wild.

Don't miss Youth Alive this week.  Joan Shankland, Mother of 5 children, 3 were Plainfield South graduates, is a published writer of her book "Touched By His Power".  Joan will share true stories from her book and will bring some extra books to sell for $5.00 each.  Come Thursday in room 310 from 3:30 - 5:00.  Bring your friends.

 

The German Club will be having a meeting this Thursday, March 18th at 3:30 in room 322.  We will be watching the videos from Foreign Language Week and will discuss a few future events.  Please let Frau Miller know if you are interested but are unable to attend.  Danke schön!  J

 

Welcome to Career Round Table Week 2010, Bridge to a Brighter Future.  If you signed up for a presentation, look for your pass to come to you. Attendance will be taken and just remember, we hope to empower you this week with Career Choices.

 

Looking for a GREEN Career?  Come to the presentation on March 17th during 4th period in the CCC and hear Don Bassett an Industrial Hygienist.  This is a career that is VERY GREEN as one could make a lot of money working for big companies and making sure their employees are using safe equipment while dealing with hazardous tasks and ensuring safety for all its employees.  Learn more about this exciting career.  Sign up in Student Services.

 

The annual Student Art Show and Silent Auction is coming up!  Student Art will be displayed in Student Services on Thursday and Friday, March 18 & 19 and in the commons area during the Spring Musical performances.  You can place a bid for an original work of art during these days & times.  Winning bids will be announced on Monday morning, March 22.  If you have questions, please go to Student Services or see an art teacher.  Thank you.

It’s time for the Operation Snowball Retreat again!  The Operation Snowball Retreat is a fun weekend get-away that allows you to meet new people from all four Plainfield High Schools.  We will have memorable presenters, games, and the No-Talent Talent Show!  This year it will be held at Camp Manitoqua from April 9-11th.  So if you are interested, pick up an application in Student Services or in Mrs. McNulty's office Room 328.5.  All Plainfield South students are able to attend and don't forget to bring your friends!

 

Hispanic College Fair – We have two buses going to this fair on March 18th.  There is still room.  If you want to go, return your permission slip to student services.

 

Tickets for the Spring Musical, Pirates of Penzance, are now on sale in the main office.  Tickets are $5 for students and staff, $7 for adults. The shows are March 19, 20 and 21.

 

College Bound Students:  Visit www.prephq.com for information.  You can print out scholarship applications from this site.  Look under the "Scholarships and Shared Files" links.  Reminder to seniors: the College Career Center is open during lunch hour to search and apply for scholarships. 

 

Catalyst & Transition students:  Do you need some help with your homework or with getting organized for your classes?  Come to Room 207 after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:30.  Let us help you get back on track.
