The Community Relations Department

The Community Relations Department is dedicated to fostering two-way communication between our schools and our community. The department welcomes input from all members of our learning community on ways to enhance the valuable communications process between the District and our stakeholders.

Community Relations Staff:

Director of Community Relations: Tom Hernandez (815) 577-4008;
Community Relations Coordinator Lauren McFarland (815) 577-4092;
Web Designer: Ryan Boyce (815) 577-4014; or by fax at (815) 577-1067.

Community Coffees with the Superintendent:

District 202 hosts several Community Coffees with the Superintendent each school year to foster and encourage effective, efficient, open two-way communications with residents. The public is welcome and encouraged to take advantage of these unique opportunities to talk directly with the "CEO" of District 202.

"Virtual Backpack" Materials Distribution System

District 202 has implemented an online "Virtual Backpack" materials distribution system. Generally speaking the district does not allow paper materials to be distributed to students or staff to save money, time and resources. Click here for more information and to submit a flier for review and approval, or contact  Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez  for more information.

Education Partners Newsletter

Each week District 202 updates its community through the "District 202 Education Partners" electronic newsletter. This is the most direct source of information about what is happening in District 202. Please click here to subscribe.

Freedom of Information Act

District 202 is dedicated to open, transparent and efficient two-way public communications through many means, including the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

District 202 Gold Card Club

District 202 residents 62 years old and older can get a District 202 "Gold Card" which provides free admission to all student athletic events, and discounted admission to all student performances. Please contact Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez for more information at (815) 577-4008 or tahernan@psd202.org
